Making a Difference: What to Donate

Children First Academy has a constant need for healthy snack foods. Kids often come to school hungry and need quick healthy snacks throughout the day. Each participant (runner or splasher) must bring 2 non-perishable healthy snack items to donate.

Think of what it's like when you're at work without breakfast; how difficult it can be to focus and concentrate on your work. Many CFA students deal with this every day. It's difficult to learn while hungry and fatigued.

Your donation items should meet the following criteria to be useful to the school:

• Think Healthy! Kids love sweets, but a sugar rush isn't ideal learning fuel.
• Low sugar, low fat snacks are the best.
• Non-Perishable (or shelf life of 6 months or longer)
• No need for refridgeration - should be able to be stored at room temperature.
• A list of "ideal" items is to your right.

Clothing Room

In past years, we have collected donations of clothing. Thanks to the amazing generosity of our participants, we have overwhelmed their clothing room! If you have already set aside clothing to donate, do feel free to bring it as well. However, please understand there is less need in this area now, and we want to make our contributions to these students useful, and meaningful.

We will be furnishing the science lab with our 2013 run proceeds. If you, or someone you know, has connections to lab supplies, please contact us and help hook us up!
